PhD in Literary Translation from University of East Anglia (Reino Unido), bachelor’s degree in English Literature from Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México and professional translator for various institutions (OCDE, FCE, ENM, UAM, Museo Laboratorio Arte Alameda (Alameda Art Laboratory Museum), Magazine of Universidad de México, and Castillo Editorial, Grano de Sal Editorial. She is a member of the Editorial Board of the Department of Art of Universidad Iberoamericana and editorial coordinator of Ibero Nerika Art Magazine.
Dr. Stern was a professor at the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters of UNAM. She collaborated in the creation of the SEP’s National English Program and worked for the FCE as editor of the Deputy of Projects for Children and Youth, as well as coordinator of the Translation and Sales Rights. She coordinated and represented the National Catalog of Rights Mexico 2015 (Conaculta). She was the Foreign Rights Manager of Penguin Random House Editorial Group and carried out an editorial role at the book fairs of Frankfurt, Bologna, London, Guadalajara, Sharjah (United Arab Emirates), as well as at the International Film Festival of Guadalajara.
In addition to Stern’s work in the academic field, she is a professional bandoneonist graduated from the Emilio Balcarce Tango School Orchestra in Buenos Aires, where she participated in multiple musical groups. Dr. Stern was a member of the Mexican Tango Orchestra and is currently a member of the Carlos Matus Quintet in Mexico City.
